Update failed

Hostsman version 4.5.102
OS Windows 10
AV Program Avast Free

Problem: When trying to update, Hostsman gives an error message "Update failed" (Log copy at end of message)
Resolution steps attempted:
-Took ownership of Hosts file - able to edit and save manually
- Flushed DNS
- Stopped DNS
- Closed other open programs
- Added read and write permission for 'C:\Program Files\HostsMan\*" to Avast File System Exclusions
- Switched off Avast shields
- Checked Defender is switched off
"Checking for updates:
MVPS Hosts... update available (6/08/2015).

Installing updates:
Installing MVPS Hosts update... done.
Searching and fixing errors... done.
Replacing IPs... done.
Removing duplicates... done.
Processing exclusion list... done.
Saving to disk... failed.

I am encountering the same issue. I took full ownership of the HOST file and even the path


Still unable to save to disk.

Using Windows 10 x64 and can't update hosts. Disabled Windows Defender and stop DNS service but without luck.
Although the interface shows hosts file updated (and file size is big), I can't update either.
