How about an option to have HM create an automatic HOSTS backup when you run an update ?

That already happens. The file is called HOSTS.bak and is in the same directory as the hostsfile :) .

I understand the HOSTS.bak file - but it is overwritten and only represents the last change - I know where it is, but it is not directly accessible thru HM.
I understand:
Hosts > Manage Backups > Create Backup, which is manual, not automatic.
What I'm suggesting is that the program should automatically create & date/time stamp a backup file representing the HOSTS prior to change when it updates, similar to a manual backup, and have it accessible thru the GUI.

Thanks for your suggestion, falcon04. We'll probably implement it, but cannot say when... :)

Please make it a user selectable option if/when you implement this suggestion.
Such a feature will keep adding .baks to the etc folder and require manual removal of old .bak files which is a pain in the patoot.
