Allthough under Tools/Options/Editor, I have the following :

Use External Editor : checked
Edit Hosts with notepad : UNchecked
Editor Location: C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe

It always opens in the default notepad, this happens when I do :

Tools/HostsMan Editor (Open built-in editor, = good)

Hosts/Open Hosts with Notepad (Opens the hosts file in the default notepad, and NOT in the notepad++ that I have set = NOT good)

So, when will the external editor be opened that I have set as above ?

I didn't find any function that opens the HOSTS list in C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe ? :(

I find that selecting Windows Notepad works OK.

Yes, the problem is : The external editor assigned under Tools/Options/Editor is never used ?

At least I didn't find any function that opens that assigned external editor ?
It always opens windows default notepad which takes ages to load the hosts file,
while notepad++ for example loads it in a franction of a second :(

Have you tried clicking the third button (the one that says Open Hosts when you move the cursor over it)? Or menu File > Open Hosts?
